L&W Power History

L&W Power Corp was founded in 1982 by Ed Luzader and Steve Weber with a combined experience of thirty years in project engineering and sales management at Westinghouse Semiconductors. In an effort to be closer to critical customers, Westinghouse made the switch to Manufacturers’ Representatives. L&W Power Corp became their first rep firm due to the heavy concentration of power electronics in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Luzader and Weber founded L&W Power Corp with a goal of becoming the leading Manufacturers’ representative firm in the Midwest focused on power electronics.


Upon Luzader and Weber’s retirement in 2005, Jack Devine and Tim Opalewski purchased L&W Power Corp. Both Jack and Tim started their careers with L&W Power Corp in 1985. As partners, Jack and Tim have carefully added strategic and synergistic new products and principals to support key customer product development and rapidly changing design and production requirements. Jack and Tim’s combined experience, technical knowledge, integrity, and vision have propelled L&W Power Corp to become the premier Power Electronics Manufacturers’ Representative firm in the Midwest.


In 2018, Matthew Rama joined Jack and Tim as part owner Director of Sales. With Tim Opalewski’s full retirement at the end 2019, Matthew was promoted to Vice President of L&W Power Corp. Jack Devine now serves as President of L&W Power Corp.
